OCSC Mini-Grant Program

Updated: March 15, 2007

The mission of the Orange County Safe Communities Coalition is to promote awareness of injury and its impact on the community. Coalition members provide information, resources, training and support for injury prevention initiatives and activities within Orange County, NC.

In order to further this mission, OCSC has established a Mini-Grant Program funded through AAA conducted Driver Improvement Program class fees that are returned to OCSC. Refer to Safe Communities Driver Improvement Program for additional information about these classes.

OCSC will accept proposals from any nonprofit community or governmental organizations that provide services in Orange County for the purposes of supporting injury prevention related activities or resources within the community. Priority is given to proposals that include a community involvement component. Grants may also be made to individuals engaged in projects designed to enhance injury prevention services in the county.

Individuals or organizations interested in receiving monetary support for a one time event, outside the grant cycle, may contact the Safe Communities Coordinator for information about grant availability and application requirements.

Applicants can request grant awards of up to $2,500. Grant funds are intended to be used to support new programs or expand existing programs. Grants will be awarded once a year or as funds allow, for grant cycles running from July 1 - June 30.
